Why Refrax©?
The specially bonded silicon carbide refractory known as Refrax© is a significant step forward in narrowing the gap between refractories and metals. Regularly bonded ceramics have a modulus of rupture of ranging from 200 and 2,000 PSI. The Refrax© modulus of rupture is 5,600 PSI. The crystalline grain from which the refractory is made is among the hardest materials known today. Silicon carbide is next to diamond in hardness. Resistance to both direct and impinging type abrasion is far superior to any type of metal alloy or rubber compound.
The chemical inertness of Refrax© has found extensive use throughout the metallurgical and chemical fields in handling corrosive slags and other reative materials. As a result, this pump can be used in a wide range of applications successfully and ecoonomically inder conditions where pumps of other materials ordinarily fall short.
